Longtime WWE employe Howard Finkel pointed out how ridiculous ECW general manager Teddy Long looked on this week's ECW show for letting Matt Hardy jump to Smackdown. "Teddy, what were you thinking?" Finkel wrote. "What is wrong with you? How could you let Matt Hardy just walk away from ECW, and not get anything in return from SmackDown? Once Matt expressed his desire to you to be released, did you not even think about picking up the phone, calling your Smackdown GM counterpart Vickie Guerrero, and regardless of past feelings, let her know of Matt's desires, and attempt to make a deal with her?
"Did you not think that there was anyone on her roster that was worthy of your consideration? Well, if I may be an 'armchair quarterback,' I would have advised you of the one individual that I believe you could have acquired, who no doubt would have more than made up for the loss of one of your key performers. His name: Montel Vontavious Porter, a.k.a. MVP!!"
Orton's POV: I asked the same thing about Long's announcement when it aired on Tuesday night. I suppose this could be a storyline that leads to people questioning Long's decisions, but my guess is that it was just a flawed angle that made him look incompetent.
